Document search
Search across all stored documents, including simple commands for exact and advanced queries – phrases, logical operators, and typo-tolerant search – as well as semantic search based on meaning.
AI Chat
Ask questions in plain language. The system finds the relevant documents and puts together an answer based on the information they contain.
AI Research
Enter a more complex topic, and an AI agent works in the background to prepare a research report on it from the information contained in your documents.
Document verification
Create and save your own rules – for example the required parts of a contract, your company's business proposal, and so on. Submit the finished document to Nolan and let it check the document against the selected rule set.
Questions by email
A research request can also be sent as a regular email to the address your company assigns to Nolan. You'll receive the results back as a reply to your email.
Access control
Documents are organized into libraries with their own access settings for individual users. An administrator can specify each user's access level for every library.
Runs on your own infrastructure
The system is primarily tuned to run without an internet connection, in a strict private mode, so company documents never have to leave the company's own environment. A configuration change also lets you use cloud services to speed up the AI features.
Connects to what you already use
Nolan can connect on its own to sources your company already uses and pull documents in from them.
Watches a chosen mailbox and automatically adds received messages and documents to the system.
SharePoint
Connects to a company SharePoint and keeps documents in libraries synchronized with its content.
Network drive (LAN)
Scans shared folders on the company network and adds and updates new or changed files without any user action.
NextCloud
Connects to a NextCloud instance and pulls in documents the same way as from the other sources.

Company knowledge base
Internal policies, documentation, contracts, source code – all mapped in one place, clearly organized into libraries. Accessible through fast search and an AI agent that works exclusively with your own information.
Checking contracts before signing
Let the system check your documents. A contract is automatically compared against company rules before signing, and the system flags missing requirements, incorrect wording, stylistic errors, and typos – in any language.
Monitoring public sources
The system can autonomously collect information and documents from publicly available sources (standards, recommendations, laws, etc.). You always have them available in one place, where you can search them and hand complex topics over them to an AI agent to work out.
Nolan as an AI agent available via API
Integrate Nolan with other systems through its API. For example, it can act as an AI member of a helpdesk team – a user's question is first processed by Nolan, which drafts an answer and recommendations based on the manuals and technical specifications available to it.
Data quality checks
The same rule-based verification works on data, not just documents. Upload a spreadsheet or CSV export – a customer list, an invoice register – define the rules it must satisfy, and let an AI agent go through it record by record, flagging the rows that break them.
How it fits in
Nolan DMS can be deployed as a standalone system or alongside an existing document store. It connects to sources a company is already using and adds search and AI analysis on top of them. Document verification against defined rules is a feature independent of the document store.

- You can download the installation scripts and installation package for both Windows and Linux directly from this site.
- Nolan requires a signed license file to run. You can order one through our Liman system.
- Start with a free 30-day trial license. Once the trial period ends, you can order a 365-day software-use license with no special limits (the hardware, however, must be your own).

System installation
The system can be deployed in several ways.
Private installation
The system's primary purpose: on your own hardware, in your private network, and if you choose to, with no internet access at all. A fully functional system under your own administration. Requires hardware with a capable GPU.
Mixed installation
Your own server handles ordinary workloads, and you pay for the AI computing power in the cloud.
Cloud installation
A virtual server in the cloud, with GPU power from an external provider.
