Try Nolan Online for FreeWhat Nolan Online is
Nolan Online is the publicly available version of the Nolan DMS system. It exists so you can see and test its core functionality without installing anything. Once you register, you get your own library where you can upload documents in a range of formats.
The system works with text only, so to save space it is best to upload documents without images. The storage limit per user is 1 GB. The number of AI analyses over your data is also capped at a few requests per 24 hours – we may change this limit depending on system load and the computing capacity available for AI operations.
What you get
The account you create after registering.
Your own library
Upload documents in .docx, .pdf, Excel, .epub, .txt and other formats into a library that is yours alone.
Text-only processing
Nolan works with the text of your documents. Uploading files without images keeps them small and leaves more room in your quota.
1 GB per user
Each user has up to 1 GB of space for document content.
AI analyses per day
A few AI requests per 24 hours are included. The limit flexes with system load and the AI capacity available.

About the AI model and your data
Nolan DMS Online uses an open-source AI model rented in the cloud for its AI features. The company we rent it from runs its servers in the EU and guarantees that it neither stores user data nor trains models on it. Even so, we recommend being careful about what information you upload to the system.
The operator of Nolan DMS Online is not responsible for the contents of individual users' libraries.
How to get started
Step by step
- Prepare the documents (.docx, .pdf, Excel, .epub, .txt, …) you want to make available to Nolan. Ideally gather them into a single folder that you then import into the system as a whole. Processing takes on the order of minutes per document, depending on its length.
- Once your documents are in the system, you have an agent working over your knowledge base. You can search it with classic search or contextual search, ask the AI model about information in the documents, and run complex AI-agent analyses over the documents in your library.
- Beyond analyses, you can ask the system to review or extend a document you supply according to a set of rules. The rules are public: if you create your own rule set it becomes available to other users, and vice versa. The document being checked is uploaded from your computer and is not stored by the system – it does not have to be part of your library.
- With ordinary permissions you do not have access to the system's automatic data-collection features from various sources. Administrator rights are not granted (for understandable reasons).

The Nolan DMS Online version you are using is meant for testing, and within the limits above it is available free of charge.
Want it for yourself?
We can deploy the system for you in several ways.
Private installation
The system's primary purpose: on your hardware, in your private network, and if you decide so, without any internet access at all. A fully functional system under your administration. Requires hardware with a capable GPU.
Mixed installation
Your own server handles ordinary workloads, and you pay for the computing power needed for AI in the cloud.
Cloud installation
Similar to this Nolan DMS Online version, but entirely under your administration – a virtual server and GPU power from an external provider. You can pick and configure the cloud servers yourself. You cover the server costs; we install Nolan DMS and supply the necessary licenses.
Licensing
- Every deployment comes with a free 30-day trial license.
- After that you can purchase an annual license. The license is a signed file tied to your hardware.
- You can generate the license file online and simply upload it into Nolan DMS through the user interface.
